I think the author Gabrial Garcia Marquez's on writing the story is to inform everyone about what really happened. Obviously the sailors story had some point, like he had to let the rest of the world be aware about everything that was first of all wrong on the ship and secondly it maybe it will be a good survival guide! Apparently three serious offenses have been committed, "it was illegal to transport cargo on a destroyer ship, the over weight prevented the ship from maneuvering to rescue the sailors and third the cargo was contraband-the destroyer was loaded with an ill-secured moral and political cargo that we hadn't foreseen". So apparently this story reveals alot about what people should be looking out for and what sailors now can pay attention to. I think it's going to be a good book, because if it wasn't I wouldn't be on chapter 9 already
