Religious Change: A Critique of The Big Sort by Bill Bishop.
These are the things i will write about in my essay in separate paragraphs:
-Throughout history, America has undergone many changes in society, political views and religious views.
-The use of facts and statistics to support his argument bode well with Bishop throughout the fifth chapter.
-There is a cause and effect relationship between religion and politics. Bishop does an excellent job informing his readers about the similarities between religion and politics.-This chapter easily coincides with the other chapters and it does not seem out of place. This chapter continues to confirm the cause and effect relationship between religion and politics. Throughout this section Bishop gives detailed examples of the strong connection between religion and politics. He uses authoritative examples allows the reader to relate things back to the history of American society. Bishops language is fresh and incisive because many of his writings are dialogues from other sources.-Society went from everyone being comfortably together to comfortably separated into small social groups.
I will use quotations and other examples Bishop provides to make this essay extremely interesting and good to read. Some of what he says is persuasive however he writes well to inform the readers more.
